When I first started BBG, I couldn’t find a guide anyyyyywhere telling me what equipment I needed! And if I found a blog post or forum online, no one shared specifics or exact weights of their dumbbells + kettlebells. I did a ton of research before purchasing my bench + aerobic step, which I LOVE. These are totally necessary for BBG. I started out using a chair + if working out isn’t hard enough, a sliding, slippery chair does not make it easier.
When it comes to weights, I’ve found that 5 lb. + 8 lb. dumbbells + a 20-25 lb. kettlebell are great starting points. Once you feel yourself getting stronger, you’ll want to up your lbs. as you see fit!
This is the entire package you need for BBG [updated January 2021]. The only things not completely necessary are my Apple Watch + my dumbbell/kettlebell stand. My watch makes navigating through workouts 20x easier + I wanted my dumbbells/kettlebells off the floor! Sources linked below ♡
